Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were in pursuit of a driver hitting speeds of more than 100 miles per hour while behind the wheel of a suspected stolen vehicle Wednesday night.
LAPD’s Rampart Division initiated the chase after the driver failed to yield to officers just before 9 p.m.
The suspect was leading police in chase on the southbound 110 Freeway before exiting to surface streets as officers with the California Highway Patrol tried to get into position to take over the pursuit.
KTLA’s Sky5 reporter Gil Leyvas was over the scene as several police units remained in the chase as it moved onto the northbound 110 Freeway, where the driver accelerated between other motorists, splitting lanes and managing to get head of officers who lost sight of the suspect and terminated the chase…
