Woman accused of stealing more than $20K from Hoover bank

HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – A woman is facing charges related to the theft of more than $20,000 from a financial institution in Hoover.

In Feb. 2026, the Hoover Police Financial Crimes Unit started investigating the woman who was accused of passing fraudulent bank notes.

The woman was identified by detectives as Symone Reed.

Warrants were obtained and the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office charged her with five counts of first-degree possession of a forged instrument and first-degree theft of property. Bond for those charges totaled $60,000…
