CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A bride-to-be says she lost a $6,000 deposit after Common House closed without warning, leaving her scrambling to find a new venue for her rehearsal dinner and welcome party.
Melissa Luse said she and her fiancé were supposed to have their events at Common House in October. She learned of the closure last Thursday, April 16 when her fiancé forwarded her an email from the venue.
“I thought he was joking. I was like, ‘ha ha, so funny.’ And he forwarded me this email that it looks like they sent out. It’s just a generic we’re having a landlord dispute. We’re closing. And that’s it. Nothing. No follow-up email about our event. Nothing,” Luse said…
