Virginia ICE operation crosses over North Carolina border

MOYOCK, N.C. (WAVY) — An investigation involving federal immigration agents and local law enforcement moved from Virginia into Currituck County, North Carolina, on Wednesday morning, resulting in three people being taken into custody.

The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents followed a vehicle from Virginia to Moyock. There was no word on exactly where the pursuit began. According to investigators, the vehicle was occupied by a man with outstanding felony warrants, and officials have not yet specified the nature of the alleged crimes.

According to the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 8:08 a.m., Currituck Communications was contacted by an ICE agent stating that they were following a vehicle into the county and requested assistance…
