JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Visit Jackson has been aiming to revitalize the capital city for years, part of that includes bringing big attractions to the area.
Yolanda Clay-Moore, director of External Affairs with Visit Jackson, said a concert featuring big names, like T.I. and Rick Ross, was expected to come to Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in May, but the demand simply wasn’t there.

“It has been rescheduled, and I really think that the promoters just got a little spooked because of low ticket sales. Jackson is typically a walk up market and that kind of hurts us sometimes when we have these bigger events that want to come here. But these promoters have a lot invested in the artists,” she said.
Clay-Moore said other factors also came into play for the concert to be rescheduled. She said improvements to the capital city will in turn create a positive momentum for the entirety of the state…
