Amazon $12B Expansion, Corderill Deal Grow Mississippi Tech

The data center ecosystem in Mississippi is expanding with two significant investment announcements this month. This week, tech company Corderill LLC shared its plans to locate in Meridian as a tenant at Compass Datacenters campus. Earlier in April, Amazon announced it will invest $12 billion in central Mississippi, which brings the company’s total planned capital investment in the state to $25 billion. Amazon’s planned growth in Madison County builds upon its 2024 announcement of plans to invest at least $10 billion. As part of its most recent investment news, Amazon will also locate in Clinton, MS.

The Corderill project in Meridian represents a corporate investment of at least $100 million in data center equipment and will create at least 20 direct jobs. In January 2025, Compass Datacenters announced plans to develop a hyperscale data center campus in Lauderdale County. The campus represents an overall investment of $10 billion, including tenants’ information technology equipment.
