Man contracted out of Kansas City nuclear facility among 10 missing, dead in US

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man contracted out of Kansas City’s National Security Campus (KCNSC) is among 10 missing or dead scientists and government insiders who have ties to top-secret space and nuclear laboratories in the United States.

Steven Garcia vanished from his Albuquerque, New Mexico, home on Aug. 28, 2025 — just two days before his 48th birthday. Officials say he was last seen on foot, leaving his home with only a handgun. He has not been seen since.

According to reports from numerous outlets, Garcia was a New Mexico government security contractor out of KSNSC, which is managed by Honeywell FM&T, in Kansas City, Missouri.

The facility plays a key role in developing the latest technology for the country’s national defense. Specifically, it manufactures more than 80% of non-nuclear components for the military’s nuclear weapons…
