(WIFR) – It’s felt a bit like a summer day here across the stateline with highs topping out in the upper 70s to lower 80s. This summer like warmth will be accompanied by a cold front, along with some showers and storms moving through the region after midnight.
I don’t think we’ll see anything strong to severe this evening as the timing is unfavorable for storm development. A low level jet will attempt to keep some instability in our atmosphere, but it will likely push out in front of the storms as they cross the Mississippi River. This means the storms will lose it’s best tool to keep them going, so they will quickly start to weaken and dissipate as they move overhead.
