Sioux Falls to get new Avera children’s hospital with $35M gift

SIOUX FALLS — Families across the region will soon have greater access to pediatric health care, thanks to a $35 million gift from philanthropist B. Thomas Golisano, according to an announcement by Avera Health.

The donation is the largest single gift in Avera’s history and will support the construction of a new children’s hospital in Sioux Falls.

The new facility, to be named Avera Golisano Children’s Hospital, will be part of a six-story, $165 million patient care tower at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center.
