DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) — Charleston’s Traffic and Transportation Committee met Thursday to clarify what defines an e-bike, as city officials work to update ordinances for the growing number of electric bicycles in the Lowcountry.
The committee said e-bikes should be treated as bicycles in terms of where riders may ride or park them, but only if the e-bikes meet specific criteria.
