Lancaster County rejects permit for proposed Indian Land mosque

INDIAN LAND, S.C. (WBTV) – The Lancaster County Planning Commission voted down a permit for a proposed mosque in the county this week. The permit would allow about five acres of land off Harrisburg Road in Indian Land to be used for a new worship center.

People in the area say they’ve seen their once-quiet road filled with new traffic as growth continues. John Pettus and his wife, Rita, have lived in their home off Harrisburg Road in Indian Land for nearly six decades.
