Wildfires in Georgia and Florida have set thousands of acres ablaze as extreme drought grips the region.

One of the largest fires, the Pineland Road wildfire, has grown to consume 31,307 acres near Fargo, Georgia, about 120 miles northeast of Tallahassee, Florida, and is only 10% contained, according to USA TODAY’s wildfire data. Another fire, the Highway 82 fire in Atkinson, Georgia, around 258 miles southeast of Atlanta, has set 5,531 acres ablaze and is only 15% contained. Since it was discovered on April 20, the Highway 82 wildfire has destroyed 90 homes.
