Chattanooga Armed Forces Day Parade scaled back as DHS shutdown affects Coast Guard role

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — A long-standing Chattanooga tradition will look a little different this year.

Organizers of the Armed Forces Day Parade say the ongoing Department of Homeland Security shutdown is forcing changes, including the loss of a key speaker.

Retired Navy Captain Mickey McCamish, who organizes the parade, told us on Friday that the chief of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Ouachita will no longer be able to attend.
