Salem High in Rockdale County evacuated after ‘safety threat,’ investigation ongoing; all students safe

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Salem High was evacuated on Friday morning due to a “safety threat,” the sheriff’s office said. Deputies are actively investigating as of 11:30 a.m. and students are said to be safe.

The students, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said, “have been relocated to another staging area” as the investigation is conducted.

The sheriff’s office described the evacuation as being done “out of an abundance of precaution.”…
