3rd arrest made in double shooting of Faulkner students

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A third arrest has been made in the case of two Faulkner University students who were shot on April 4.

James Earl Cannon III was arrested Friday morning on four counts of menacing, two counts of first degree assault, and one count of discharging a gun into an unoccupied building/vehicle, carrying a $132,000 total bond.

He has since bonded out.

The incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Atlanta Highway. The victims, who were both students at Faulkner, were walking away from the university when a gray Mercedes pulled up and two people began shooting, according to the victims…
