An 18-year-old Riverview man was seriously hurt after his car clipped a tractor-trailer on Interstate 75, stopped in the center lane and was hit by an SUV as he stood in the road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The man was driving a Kia Optima south on I-75 near mile marker 241, close to Sun City Center/Gibsonton, around 4:39 a.m. April 19 when he tried to pass the tractor-trailer in the outside lane, lost control and spun into the truck, troopers said. His car came to rest in the center lane, and the tractor-trailer stopped on the shoulder, according to the patrol.
