After a dinner gone wrong at El Tiempo Cantina in Webster culminated in an arrest, a Pasadena couple is suing the Tex-Mex restaurant and alleging it violated their civil rights.
Emilio and Maria Longoria filed the lawsuit in January, alleging that during a January 2024 visit, a dispute over seating escalated after they refused to move tables while in the middle of eating. According to the lawsuit, a restaurant manager called police, who arrested Emilio Longoria on a charge of public intoxication. The couple, who are Hispanic, said they were asked to move to accommodate a white party and believe the incident stemmed from racial discrimination.
