Old Fourth Ward E-Bike Crash Turns Deadly After Rider Slams Wall

An early-morning e-bike ride in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward ended in tragedy Friday when a woman was killed after losing control and crashing into a wall, according to police.

Atlanta police and Grady EMS were called around 7:20 a.m. to the 500 block of Glen Iris Drive NE, where officers found the rider unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released her name or age.

Officers at the scene told WSB-TV the woman was speeding toward a stop sign at Glen Iris Drive and Winton Terrace when she tried to brake but the e-bike did not stop. Investigators say she went through the intersection, hit a curb, was thrown from the bike and then struck a wall headfirst…
