These Alabama counties have the highest rates of STDs

Rates for two of the most prevalent sexually transmitted diseases in the country were on the decline in Alabama last year, but some counties are faring better than others.

Montgomery County had the highest rate of STDs in the state, with 185 residents per 10,000 diagnosed with either chlamydia, gonorrhea or syphilis in 2025, according to a report by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
