April 26th is National Pretzel Day. If you are Wetzel’s Pretzels, it’s “National Wetzel Day.” The holiday that was undoubtedly a favorite of Stanley from The Office will be celebrated at the Wetzel’s Pretzels location at the Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District. For its celebration, Wetzel’s Pretzels will be offering a free original pretzel per person from 3:00 PM until it closes in the evening. This celebration is also being called “Wetz Fest.”

There are some claims that the holiday started as far back as 1983. However, 2003 is when the official declaration was made. The pretzel has a long history with Pennsylvania. The first pretzel bakery opened in Lititz, PA, in the 1800s. Today, 80% of the nation’s pretzels are made in Pennsylvania.
