SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Mark Robertson, a radio legend in Savannah and the Lowcountry, has passed away.
In a social media post on Saturday, 98.7 The River shared the news of his passing. Robertson was battling late-stage pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed in April.
Former radio host battling stage-four pancreatic cancer
Robertson spent 48 years behind the mic, waking up with listeners and being a company in many people’s daily commutes during his morning talk show. He later retired in 2025 after debuting at 98.7 The River back in 1977.
“His impact on this station, and on Savannah and Bluffton, is impossible to measure,” said 98.7 The River on social media. “Generations grew up listening to him. Many of us had the privilege of working alongside him, learning from him and calling him a friend.”…
