Hot, humid, isolated hit-or-miss strong storms

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Partly sunny with a slight chance of severe thunderstorms. Yes, that’s the forecast through the middle of next week.

This afternoon, temperatures will continue to climb to the 90s with oppressive humidity. Heat indices will be in the mid-to-upper 90s later today.

Rain chances are low-end, but an isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible later this evening.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1/5 (Marginal) severe risk for most of the KXAN viewing area.

Tonight, temperatures will cool to the 70s with increasing clouds. Tomorrow, morning clouds will lead to partly sunny skies late. Isolated thunderstorms are possible during the late afternoon and evening hours.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1/5 (Marginal) risk for the Austin area and west of I-35. Large hail and damaging winds are possible in these strong to severe t-storms.
