FIRST ALERT UPDATE – Storms move back in for Monday

  • Dry weather continues through Sunday
  • Monday brings widespread rain and scattered thunderstorms
  • Cooler temperatures arrive Tuesday

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The weekend wraps up on a pleasant note across southern Wisconsin, with Saturday evening and Sunday featuring dry conditions and highs in the 60s. Some low clouds may develop overnight into Sunday morning, especially east of Madison, but these should clear by mid-morning. Increasing clouds arrive Sunday afternoon and evening as our next weather system approaches.

Monday is a First Alert Day as low pressure moves from the Iowa and Missouri border northward into northwest Wisconsin. Widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and into Monday night. Areas along and south of Interstate 94 have the best chance of seeing strong to severe storms during the afternoon and evening hours. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are all possible where severe storms develop…
