ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A community event was held Saturday morning, giving residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of leftover paint.
The morning of April 25, residents were welcomed to the Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful recycling center for Paint Recycling Day. Unwanted latex or oil-based paint could be dropped off for free.
The initiative not only allows community members to clear out some space, but also gives that old paint a new life.
“This is a great opportunity for individuals in the community to come out and donate their leftover paint that might be sitting in storage, taking up space, and can instead be repurposed or recycled for something else,” said State Representative Dave Vella. “I wanted this to be a simple, no-cost way for people in the community to recycle their leftover latex or oil-based paint.”…
