Rainy and cool weekend Caitlyn ‘Cat’ Carman’s bench finds home at Family Park
A special bench in honor of a beloved USD student will, again, have an appropriate home… after it took a trip downriver. The memorial bench for Caitlyn Carman, who was killed in a 2018 car crash, was originally located by a river near Vermillion. But Carman’s mother received a message last year that someone near Omaha had actually found* the bench. Floodwater had hit the Vermillion area in 2024. Visitors will be able to find the bench at its new location at Family Park in Sioux Falls.
