An Alabama seafood legend has set the Memphis dining scene ablaze. Wintzell’s Oyster House has stoked excitement among local foodies by announcing its first location in the area, and the concept has already filed paperwork to get the ball rolling, reports Daily Memphian.
Wintzell’s is taking over the 250 Peabody Place storefront previously occupied by a Hooter’s. The restaurant has a certificate of occupancy under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development as of April 20.
Hooter’s vacated the 6,700 square foot storefront in June of 2025 and the space has been empty since. The Wintzell’s team will be renovating the restaurant and aims to be open to the public by June of this year…
