Multiple hikers helped to safety during two search-and-rescue operations near Flattop

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Rescuers had a busy evening near Anchorage Glen Alps Saturday, as two separate calls for help came in.

The first, and bigger of the two rescues, began with a call around 4:30 p.m. Saturday about two miles east of the Flattop parking lot, according to Alaska State Troopers (AST).

A 42-year-old man reported he was caught in an avalanche and broke his leg, troopers said.
