CLIFTON – At just 16 years old, Jeremy Lacey is quickly emerging as one of the brightest young talents in American cornhole.

The Arizona high school junior made headlines on Saturday, April 11, by winning two state championships at the Arizona State Scholar Championships (AZSCC) in Sahuarita. Lacey claimed gold in both singles and doubles in the High School division, showcasing remarkable composure and precision under pressure.

In the High School doubles final, he teamed up with partner Minnabella Woods from Sahuarita to secure the title. He followed that up by winning the High School singles championship, defeating strong competition from his doubles partner in a hard-fought final.

Cornhole, once viewed as nothing more than a casual backyard game, has transformed into a legitimate competitive sport. Organizations like the American Cornhole League (ACL) now offer official rankings, sponsorship opportunities, and national tournaments. Lacey has already made significant strides in this scene.
