OWOSSO, Mich. — Several residents at the Kona Villa apartment complex say they were served seven day eviction notices Friday, claiming they were never informed of rent increases they are now accused of owing.
Tenants tell a similar story. Many say they completed required annual re-determination paperwork last year and were given a set rent amount to pay. Now, they say they are being told they should have been paying more, despite never receiving notice of an increase.
“It sounds like a communication breakdown, but people are now facing eviction over something they say they were never told,” one resident said…
