(FOX 5/KUSI) — The body of a dead whale was spotted floating a mile off the San Diego County coast on Monday morning.
Several people from the San Diego area sent photos to FOX 5/KUSI around 8 a.m. showing the whale floating off the coast of San Elijo State Beach in Encinitas.
Drone images showed the whale’s body on the water’s surface off the coast from the beach’s amphitheater.
City officials from Encinitas confirmed that the whale was found floating around 400 yards off the coast and dispatched a team of lifeguards to work with California State Parks to tow the carcass out to sea…
