JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a 19-year-old was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at a park.
Police said Ladarius Evans was arrested on April 26, 2026, and charged with murder and tampering with evidence.
18-year-old killed, another injured in Jackson park shooting
The shooting occurred at Leavell Woods Park on Dona Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on April 25, 2026.
Police said the shooting occurred when a large group of young people gathered for a celebration. One of the victims was located at the park, and the second victim was transported to a hospital by a private vehicle.
