Coast Guard offloads $53M in cocaine at Port Everglades after major drug busts

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (CBS12) — The U.S. Coast Guard brought a massive haul of drugs ashore in South Florida, offloading more than $53 million worth of cocaine Monday at Port Everglades.

Crews aboard the USCGC Escanaba unloaded approximately 7,050 pounds of cocaine following two separate interdictions—one in the Caribbean Sea and another in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
