Drivers Beware: Another Franklin County Ohio court scam

FRANKLIN, Ohio (WOIO) – Fake court documents claiming to be from Franklin County courts are circulating and demanding immediate payment, according to the Ashland County Sheriff’s office.

The documents are not legitimate court records and are designed to pressure recipients into paying quickly through QR codes or links.

The fake notices include several red flags. One example claims to be from the “Municipal Court of the County of Franklin,” but Franklin County is in the Columbus area, not Ashland. The documents use generic language listing multiple unrelated violations and include pressure tactics such as “FINAL NOTICE” and “IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED.”
