The Tennessee Highway Patrol is moving to purchase portable breathalyzers for all troopers after scrutiny over “sober DUI” arrests in Tennessee. The agency is currently in the process of selecting a company in which to buy the preliminary breath tests for use in the field, a THP spokesperson confirmed to FOX17 in an email.
This comes after FOX17’s ongoing investigation into “sober DUI” arrests in Tennessee, which has shown determining whether a driver is under the influence can be a cloudly process.
