Eggplant Romano, sticky chicken and more best things we ate in Baton Rouge and Acadiana

Eggplant Romano from Drago’s Seafood Restaurant

After seeing “You, Me and Tuscany,” a friend and I hopped over to Drago’s in Perkins Rowe for some appetizers. We sat outside on the lovely patio. I ordered the Eggplant Romano because it felt as close as I could get to Tuscany in an instant.

The fried eggplant spears with grated parmesan and Romano cheese were crispy and flavorful. A dip in the spicy red pepper marinara sauce was a wonderful complement to the crunchy and cheesy eggplant. One appetizer was plenty, and I even brought some home.
