Stormy weather continues in Ozarks before week-long break

For a second day in a row, thunderstorms left behind swaths of hail damage for some in the Ozarks. Some were left without power following storms too, and power crews continue to work on restoring power this morning.

Yesterday’s storm is long gone, but today’s storm is already on its way. That’s right, one more day of storm chances before we get a long break this week!

Today’s storm zone is located mainly near and south of Highway 60. A storm system coming up from the southwest will draw a warm front into Southern Missouri. Areas south of this warm front will have a risk for severe weather early this afternoon, possibly as early as lunchtime.

Storms could produce up to golfball-sized hail and 60-70 mph wind gusts. The tornado risk is low, but not zero in Northern Arkansas. Storms are most likely from noon to 6 PM, ending before sunset.

The weather is quiet with NO storm chances Wednesday through the weekend, something all of us are looking forward to. Temperatures will be in the 60s in the afternoon and fall to the mid-40s overnight for the remainder of this week.

Those with plans this weekend can look forward to nice weather. We’ll find sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures in the 60s on Saturday and in the low 70s on Sunday. Winds will shift from the north on Saturday to the south on Sunday. Enjoy!…
