FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Fairfax County Police Department said license plate reader technology has helped recover more than 500 stolen vehicles since 2022.
Police said the cameras, placed throughout the county, scan license plates and alert officers when a vehicle is flagged as stolen or linked to a crime.
The technology has also helped locate 53 missing people, recover 60 firearms and make more than 2,400 arrests. Police said about 60% of those arrests involve felony charges…
