SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – All six suspects charged in the Oglethorpe Mall shooting appeared in court with their lawyers on Tuesday. Attorneys are looking to throw out any evidence tied to gang activity.
Each suspect appeared before the chief judge as they individually filed motions for their cases. The main point is challenges to the state’s gang expert. The defense is seeking to limit or exclude testimony related to gang activity, particularly any references to unindicted criminal conduct.
Prosecutors indicated the investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear what gang-related evidence will ultimately be presented at trial. An ATF ballistics report has been submitted to the state crime lab.
