ROME, N.Y. — Nearly 30 pilots, all women, descended upon Rome over the weekend to gather at Innovare Advancement Center at Griffiss Business and Technology Park, proving that aviation is alive and well in Central New York and across the nation.
The women gathered for the New York/New Jersey section meeting for the 99s, the International Flying Organization founded by pioneering pilot Amelia Earhart and 98 other female pilots back in 1929.
