Wolf Creek Park ends public camping, adds security

FREMONT – Public camping has closed at Wolf Creek Park, while upgrades are coming for group camping.

Sandusky County Park District Director Andrew Brown confirmed that the 24 primitive campsites for individual camping are no longer available, there will also be $170,000 in park upgrades for group camping. Signs were posted at the end of last year indicating that individual camping would be eliminated, so people would know that it would not be available for reservations as it had been.

“It’s all in anticipation of trying to do some revamping of both sides of the park and trying to stay ahead of things and get going on some upgrades,” Brown said. “What we are doing is transitioning from public camping to group camping only. We get a lot of requests for group camping situations.”…
