ATTICA, Ohio — Craig Mintz doesn’t race as much as he used to but when he does, the Gibsonburg, Ohio, driver is a force to be reckoned with and he proved it Friday to kick off the 44th Annual Overwatch Precision Ohio Sprint Speedweek at Attica Raceway Park.
Mintz, a two-time Attica 410 sprint track champion, drove under Parker Price Miller on lap 15 and navigated through traffic for his third career NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline Oil victory and his 18th career win at Attica. It’s Mintz’s first series win since 2023.
Cap Henry, a three-time winner at Attica in 2026, jumped into the early lead over Australian driver Ryan Newton, Zeth Sabo, Price Miller and Kalib Henry. When the leaders encountered lapped traffic by lap 11, Newton closed on Henry just prior to a caution flying on lap 14. On the ensuing restart, Henry and Newton exchanged sliders in turns one and two and again in turns three and four, but while exiting turn four Henry’s slider collected Newton and both spun with Newton’s car damaged and Henry went to the work area…
