Mississippi has seen days of storms and that pattern continues with almost the the entire state under a severe weather warning on Tuesday, April 28 and a large area facing risks of strong tornadoes, large hail and winds exceeding 70 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, storms will begin moving into the state Tuesday afternoon, April 28 and into the night with much of Mississippi, including Jackson, Oxford and Starkville under an Enhanced Risk, or Level 3 of a possible 5 warning. This area, which includes much of north and central Mississippi, could see hail up to the size of golf balls, winds of 70 mph or more and strong tornadoes.
The remainder of the state, excluding the six coastal counties in Southeast Mississippi, is under Level 2 and Level 1 warnings. Areas under Level 1 and 2 warnings could experience damaging winds and large hail. The area under a Level 2 threat could see tornadoes as well…
