Man sentenced for fatal Jackson gas station shootout

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A 30-year-old man, who was convicted in connection to a fatal shootout at a Jackson gas station in 2021, has been sentenced.

Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Christopher Barber was found guilty of both first-degree and second-degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison for count one and an additional 40 years for count two to be served consecutively in the custody of Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).

Man fatally shot during domestic incident in Jackson

The shooting occurred at the Jasco gas station in the 1000 block of Woodrow Wilson Avenue on February 7, 2021. The incident was captured on store surveillance cameras.

Owens said evidence established that Christopher Lee was inside the store when Justin Partee, Barber and Aaron Hudson arrived at the gas station in a vehicle. According to investigators, Partee exited the vehicle and approached the entrance of the gas station.
