OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – If you love a parade, you won’t see one in the Omaha’s Old Market. That is because the streetcar project has forced them elsewhere and that has thrown a wrench in one organization’s plan.
Last July, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners awarded Patriotic Productions grant money for its 6th annual Patriotic Parade. But then the streetcar project became too much.
“They had given us $5,000 for the patriotic parade. We did a Patriotic parade downtown for 5 years,” said Bill Williams. “Then the city decided no more parades in the Old Market and moved everything up around the stadium well we declined to do that.”…
