Sparks man convicted of domestic battery

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – A Sparks man has been convicted in a domestic battery incident that occurred on Christmas 2025.

Miguel Jimenez was sentenced to serve the maximum term of 90 days in the Washoe County Jail suspended not to exceed one year, on the conditions that he spend 2 active days in jail, complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $200 fine plus administrative assessments, pay a $35 domestic violence fee, complete 26 weeks of domestic violence classes, attend an 8 hour class on the effects of violence in the home, and that he obey all laws. He is further ordered to have no contact with the victim, with the exception of written communication regarding their child or family court orders.

On that day, officers with the Sparks Police Department were called to a residence in Sparks for a family disturbance. The caller told police she was trying to pick up her daughter when Jimenez, the child’s father, shoved her and punched her lip…
