Sheriff’s station phone lines repaired
East Los Angeles—Phone lines at the Sheriff’s Station were fully repaired after two months of outages caused by copper wire theft. Several thousand dollars’ worth of copper wiring was stolen from an electrical vault on Feb. 13, with fiber optic cables getting damaged in the process. Details emerge about drowning
Lincoln Heights—The man who drowned in Lincoln Park Lake last week had been taking care of his 14-year-old autistic son, according to new reports. Juan Andrade may have been distracted by an emergency call from a family member when the teenage boy wandered into the lake. Andrade drowned, while someone nearby was able to get the teenager out of the water. ABC7
Viral Japanese chef brings Omurice pop-up to LA
East Hollywood —A Japanese chef known for a viral omelet performance will bring his signature dish to East Hollywood as part of a limited U.S. pop-up tour. Chef Motokichi Yukimura, whose Kyoto restaurant Kichi Kichi has drawn a global following, is scheduled to appear at Budonoki for a two-day event featuring his theatrical “omurice” preparation.
