Worcester Public Library awarded 500 Chromebooks in statewide digital access push

WORCESTER—The Worcester Public Library has been awarded 500 Chromebooks as part of a statewide effort to expand access to technology, one of the largest such grants to a library in Massachusetts, officials announced.

The devices are being distributed through the Connected and Online Program, an initiative led by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute, a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. The program is designed to improve digital access by providing equipment to communities and organizations that serve residents with limited access to technology.
