Houston’s deadly domestic violence cases reveal stark and persistent racial disparities

On April 10, Tynice Friday, a 43-year-old mother of three who spent 15 years building a career as a fleet manager, was shot and killed in front of her children in their Cypress home. She had filed for divorce in December.
