A Jupiter man is accused of pushing his girlfriend from a moving pickup truck, then hitting her with the vehicle before driving away, according to a Jupiter Police Department probable cause affidavit. Bond was set at $40,000.
Officers were dispatched around 11:27 p.m. April 15 to the area of Center Street and Privateer Court after a caller reported seeing a blonde woman lying on the side of the road surrounded by debris. The caller told police she saw blood, a wallet and shoes in the roadway, along with a large dark-colored pickup truck nearby. When she turned around to get a better look, the woman and the truck were gone.
When officers got there, they found blood spatter and personal items scattered across the road, including a phone, purse, shoes and a bloody towel, the affidavit says. A second witness told investigators she initially thought she saw a tree branch or bush flying through the air, but then realized it was a person.
