CARTER LAKE, Iowa. (KOLN) – Iowa authorities have linked the man accused of attacking an officer in a Lincoln Arby’s Tuesday night to a Carter Lake homicide.
Joseph Bertolino, 36, of Florida, was arrested following a disturbance inside Arby’s at South 27th Street and Nebraska Parkway around 9:55 p.m. He was taken to the Lancaster County jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree assault on an officer and is being held without bond.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Bertolino made concerning statements to Lincoln law enforcement while in custody. He allegedly referenced an event that occurred at the Country Inn and Suites in Carter Lake earlier that evening.
